A configurator is a software application for designing products exactly to customers' individual specifications. The data collected in the process of product creation allows for cost-efficient and speedy production and is a useful basis for increasing customer loyalty.
Configurators can be used to design the most diverse products and services, ranging from cars, shoes or t-shirts to highly complex industrial goods, such as building cranes or printing presses. They may either be operated by trained sales staff or by the customers themselves.
